Algebra Bio, which has already established a remarkable presence in the Philippine market through its existing imports, is gearing up to receive its first batch of Polish-origin, highly digestible Beta Fibre. This upcoming import into the company has been enabled, working with its partner in the Philippines, by successfully gaining the Certificate of Feed Product Registration (CFPR), a vital regulatory approval that allows the product to enter the Philippine market.

The imported Beta Fibre product is a highly digestible fibre sourced from sugar beet processing (Beta vulgaris var. altissima,) through a sophisticated and controlled production process. It is a rich source of energy, dietary fibre, quality protein and other micro-nutrients, making it an excellent option for the livestock farming sector in the Philippines, where the demand for high-quality feed ingredients is on the rise.

Already well used in the diets of sows and piglets, Beta Fibre boasts a valuable and highly consistent content of Neutral Detergent Fibre (NDF). This characteristic enables a more prolonged delivery of energy substrates by producing volatile fatty acids (VFAs) through fermentation in the gut.  As a result, pregnant sows can absorb more VFAs, which in turn improves their performance, promotes piglet gain and enhances piglet uniformity in size. Additionally, the dietary fibre in Beta-Fibre can give pregnant sows a sense of fullness (satiety), reducing their stress and allowing the gut to stretch, which leads to better feed intake during lactation and an enhanced parturition.

The Beta Fibre product is also establishing a regular place in the formulations of the highest quality pet foods where its content of Non-Starch Polysaccharides (NSPs), with high water absorption capacity, help minimise intestinal disorders like diarrhoea. This application, especially into diets for dogs is already well recognised by global leaders in pet nutrition. The poultry industry is also using more fibre ingredients and from this sector too, there is a strong interest in Beta Fibre.

This export of Polish-origin Beta Fibre is set to further strengthen Algebra Bio's position in the Philippine market while catering to the growing needs of the local livestock and pet food sectors.
