Algebra Supports Ambitious Dairy Growth Plans in the Philippines


Algebra Bio participates in the 21st Dairy Congress and Expo (DairyConEx) on 23-25 May 2018 at the Bohol Cultural Center, Tagbilaran, Bohol. Organized by DairyCon with the support of the Provincial Government of Bohol, LGU of Tagbilaran City,National Dairy Authority (NDA) and Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), the conference theme, “Moving Towards Milk Self-Sufficiency” addresses the goal on food security.

Algebra Bio exhibited at the event for the first time and showcased a new range of innovative products such as Bio Fibre along with its portfolio of high specification natural feed ingredients. The product is well researched in its use in ruminant livestock and is targeted to improve nutrition and animal health, leading to better returns through performance improvement.

At the launch of the event Chairman of the Dairy Confederation of the Philippines, Mr Isidro V. Albano, announced the major initiative to increase the level of self-sufficiency in the Country. Stating ‘The ambition to increase from the current 1.3% to a 10% self-sufficiency in dairy products in the Philippines was highly achievable’

In this event, specific presentation will be made by Algebra Bio Managing Director Mr James Charateris-Hough a new fibre source to the Philippines Bio-Fibre™. This latest functional fibre to the Region is sourced from beet and derived from Europe. It offers a balance of soluble and insoluble fractions providing benefits to a range of livestock types. The digestive attributes of the product are already well recognized in the diets of ruminants, horses and pet food. Dietary fibre is also increasingly important in the diets of pigs and poultry and the team is on hand at the event to discuss specific applications.
